Barclays rolls out Voice ID for banking
Keeping track of your finances can be hard…even if you have a bank account. One of the things that can be off-putting is remembering passwords to log in to your online account.
To make life easier a number of banks are beginning to introduce voice ID recognition for customers to access their details.
From August, Barclays’ telephone customers had the option to log on to their phone banking with just their voice. Making it quicker and easier to log on.

Fingerprint recognition, on mobile, has already been in place since last year for some banks including RBS, Natwest and HSBC.
First Direct and HSBC are also due to roll out touch and voice ID in 2016. Making it easier for customers to login and manage their money.
While the option to login without a password makes it easier to view your finances, it can also lead to increased activity when it comes to managing your money. That’s never a bad thing and is something we actively encourage to all our customers.
The easiest way of keeping track of your finances is to use tools that your bank has to offer. This could be text alerts when you’re nearing your overdraft to using online banking and mobile apps. Most of the major banks offer these services and it normally only takes around five minutes to set up.
